Here’s One for the “I Thought I Saw Everything” File

On Saturday, Mark had to drive Stuart and his friends into Vancouver so they could attend the Vancouver Canucks vs. the Calgary Flames game at Rogers Arena. Since he wasn’t actually attending the game himself, he had made arrangements to spend a few hours with his sister Ann, who lives and works in Vancouver.

Reusable Ice CubesAfter a while, I got a phone call from Mark laughing, asking me if I’d ever heard of reusable ice cubes. Now I’m immediately having visions of water filled plastic bubbles that can be thawed and refrozen repeatedly – sort of like with cold packs. Then Mark sends me this picture of them. They are actual rocks, collected, cleaned, polished and packaged for sale to us poor saps who don’t know any better. This idea only seems one notch better than the decades old ‘pet rock’ idea. What is it with rocks?

Mark and I immediately speculated that we should collect the river rocks from our back yard deck area, package them, market them and make a million for ourselves.

Now when you order a drink on the rocks, you really can get it “on the rocks”.
