Yea, Canucks!

hockeyThis is the first time I’ve really felt like posting about hockey after the playoffs last spring and the “so far” horrible start to the short season this year.

That is the Luongo I know! What a game he had. Wonderful saves. Amazing read of the players, pucks and plays.

And Shroeder! His first ever shootout goal in the major leagues – after six other seasoned Canucks failed.

The Chicago Blackhawks is the team they needed to perform like this against, considering their ongoing animosity. I only hope they carry this forward as incentive to do well.

I feel for Alain Vigneault having to juggle Roberto Luongo and Cory Schneider. It’s a very delicate situation to give them both effective play time, plan for wins and still not end up with bad feelings on the part of either Luongo or Schneider. I do think Vigneault should take this win and start Schneider for the next game.
