Oliver makes his feelings known – visually and audibly!
Lately, we’ve been trying a couple of new techniques to deal with Oliver’s penchant for going into barking frenzies.
One method is the new muzzle Mark purchased and it’s pretty obvious that Oliver hates it. When he has it on, he comes over to sit next to me and starts licking my arm through the muzzle – almost like he’s begging me to take it off.
The other is that I’ve started sending Oliver into his kennel if he starts barking at the living room window. I have to get between him and the window, point and tell him to get into his kennel. He immediately walks into the kennel and I close the door. Once in there, he will start his ‘grumbling’. I find it quite funny actually, as he’s quite animated and at times his grumbling sounds like his gutteral attempts at speech. After a bit he will quiet and periodically bats at the door, causing a light metal against metal rattling sound.
On the occasion when this photo was taken by Mark, as soon as Oliver stopped grumbling, he rested his snout on the gate, causing him to look like he was sneering, looking straight at Mark. Hilarious!
