Canucks face LA Kings and triumph.
I know, the game between the Vancouver Canucks and the Los Angeles Kings last night was just an every day game. It doesn’t mean much in the long run, but to me it was a small bit of redemption.
As much as I know it’s probably wrong to feel this way, I can’t help feel a certain level of satisfaction when our Canucks beat the LA Kings (last year’s Stanley Cup winners over the Canucks) or the Boston Bruins (Stanley Cup winners over the Canucks the previous year).
The first few games of the year were tough to watch because they just didn’t seem to be the same team from the previous two years. Last night, however, they were impressive. The Sedins seem to be getting back some of their old magic, and the rest of the team were great – they gelled. Schneider was amazing! He couldn’t seem to miss last night. I wouldn’t want to be Alain Vigneault, having to decide whether to play Luongo or Schneider as goalie.
Finally, the Canucks managed to maintain their lead right to the end! I do hope this is the beginning of a pattern that will take them to the Stanley Cup again this year.
The Boston Bruins and LA Kings may have been the victors in the two previous Stanley Cups, but there’s a lot to be said for a team that makes the Stanley Cup finals two years in a row.
Is it just me, or do the passing skills of the Sedins seem to be rubbing off onto the younger players on the team? I love to watch their passing game.
Although I hate fighting in hockey, it was good to see the Canucks give as good as they get. Unfortunately, their less violent ‘modus operandi’ didn’t fare well against the much more physical teams of the Boston Bruins and the LA Kings in previous years.
Go Canucks! You keep playin’ and we’ll keep watchin’ and cheerin’!
