Sponsorship Policy

Google PageRank CheckerFinally, after three months of hard work, my sites have received their Google pagerank, and I’m thrilled that it’s a ’5/10′. Now, however, I’m starting to reap the rewards of my efforts and I’m getting more requests for embedded links and sponsored posts.

So, I decided that now is the appropriate time to set the record straight about how I will be handling the revenue generating mechanisms on my blogs.

I was only able to start my blogs because I have been on sick leave from my full time government job for six months now and it appears that it will extend for a while yet. Due to my sick leave, I have not been bringing home any income and this has caused a great deal of financial hardship for us all. Therefore, my main goal with these sites is to generate revenue.

Now that I’m getting the offers, I’m dealing with some issues I never thought of before. The major one is that I’m getting requests for links and sponsored posts on my blogs that do not make me comfortable – not because of my ability to comment on the subject matter honestly, but because several of them seem to be somewhat off topic and I’m getting duplicate requests from the same sponsors. Why they are requesting these specific blogs I don’t know, but I do find this flattering as it seems they like my blogs.

I’m in a situation where the revenue is important and unless I refuse due to matters of conscience and conviction, I intend to accept as many as I can. I will ALWAYS identify sponsored posts with my usual disclaimer at the end of the post.

I also am a bargain hunter and frequently take advantage of free sample offers. In these cases, I will frequently be writing about my opinions of these items and these posts will not show the disclaimer after the post as I will not have been paid for these posts in any way – they will be 100% my own opinion based upon my experience with the item.

So, to offset the negative hit of the increase in sponsored links and posts, I will be making a concerted effort to post more often.

Also, be assured that whether my posts are sponsored or not, my opinions will always be 100% my own – good or bad. I have been and always will refuse any offers that insist on a positive review and do not allow me that discretion.

We are a site that may receive compensation from the companies whose products we mention either as an affiliate or by request for a paid post by the advertiser. Pay per post requests always contain a disclosure at the end of the post stating that the post is sponsored by the advertiser. When companies we are affiliated with are mentioned, it is independent of the advertiser and may result in compensation through 'clicks' and/or 'purchases'. In all cases the statements made are honest and 100% my own.
