Leading by example and tough love works at any age.
During my daily research, I encountered the blog Family Matters – Practical Parenting. In her blog, author Ronit Baras discusses the effective way animals raise and teach their young, leading by example. The video she included in her blog and which I’ve inserted below, shows a dog patiently going… Continue reading
Our wild BC salmon need protection.
Here’s another notification I recently received from Change.org. This one is very near and dear to my heart because I live in British Columbia, Canada. This is one of the best salmon fishing areas in the world – or at least it was until overfishing depleted our stocks so drastically.… Continue reading

Today, however, Mark asked if… Continue reading

To get a robot vacuum or not – that is the question…
I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a robot vacuum for quite a while now. I even went so far as to suggest it to Mark as the next gift he gets me, whether it be for my birthday, Christmas, etc.
It’s not because I’m lazy (although I do… Continue reading
Dove attempts to make the beauty and film industry think twice about retouching ‘real beauty’.
I like this.
Just like the VAST majority of women in the world, I am one who is far from the idea of ‘ideal beauty’ promoted and fostered by this same industry. I have always been uncomfortable with the message it sends to our children and through the years tried… Continue reading
You can have an effective pre-laundry spray for next to nothing.
I’ve posted in the past about my trick of putting liquid hand soap on stains so they will come out in the wash. This is especially helpful when you don’t have ready access to a laundry as it keeps the stain from completely setting.
I’ve taken this one step further… Continue reading
